Precis: Health insurance is very significant in the lives of nearly all human beings. Here in the United States, good health insurance is scarce. People that need health insurance do not receive it, or at least enough of it. If a person is in am accident and loses two fingers, the insurance will only cover the bill for one. In places like Canada or England, there is no health insurance. There are no medical charges. Why is it not this way in the States? Doctors fear that they will not be paid appropriately. This was proven to be untrue, since the Canadian doctors make just as much money as the Americans. In short, the United States health insurance system is corrupt, cheap, and not nearly as affective as it could, and should, be.
“Even the poorest people in England are healthier than the richest in the USA”
This proves that money is not everything and with equal health insurance to all, the entire system is better so despite your wealth n the US, your health insurance will not be better than the equal health insurance of the English.
The family that was successful, but then when health problems occurred it all went downhill and they lost all of their money and had to live with their adult kids. The father was working at age 79.
This proves that the health insurance system is weak and ineffective being that even a wealthy family could not afford to stay healthy and the health insurance was no help at all. Their whole life went down as a result of poor health and poor health insurance.
In the CNN interview, Michael enforced his beliefs, as he seems to do quite often. He backs up his movie and his beliefs with references ad facts. He also feels strongly that Dr. Gupta is incorrect about the effectiveness of the US Health Insurance in comparison to that of others. He claims that the US health insurance system is one of the best and Michael Moore is doubtless in his belief that the doctor in completely incorrect. I personally admire his confidence and determination in his beliefs however I feel that he needs to be more professional and handle himself better. He can still speak his mind and share his opinions; however he should have more self control and be more respectful and mature.
I really enjoyed the movie. It impacted me greatly and made me realize how poor our health insurance really is. After seeing the example where the family lost everything even after being wealthy at a time, I felt awful and I actually did not want to stay here anymore. Then the quote, “Even the poorest people in England are healthier than the richest in the USA.” What is the point of a system like this? If it would make things easier for the people and have them healthier and the doctors would be happier with things being that they will be getting paid by the government and not have to deal with poor health insurance. What is the point if not having universal health care?
